Students Awarded Perfect Attendance

Four students enrolled at Chadron Primary School were recognized with a Certificate of Perfect Attendance on the last day of school, May 20th.  The students were Carlin Canaday and Abigail Jamison - Kindergarten; Rhylee Wilberger and Brayden Linegar - First Grade. These students were neither tardy no absent during the entire year.  Congratulations!

Cardinals of the Month


The twelve students chosen as "Cardinals of the Month" are as follows: Kindergarten - Ami Gartner, Richie Rudloff, Cella Landen, Kailnh Sayaloune;  First Grade - Aksel Lans, Issac Hartman, Samson Sprague, Zaine Feist; Second Grade - Sammi Brodrick, Danny Rasmussen, Shelby Fry. The students had pizza with the principal on April 1st. Congratulations, Cardinals!

Team Cogdill Cinches Boxtop Competition

     Mrs. Cogdill's students collected the most boxtops during the second "Battle of the Boxtops" competition.  The students brought in 1,050 boxtops to top the other classrooms at Chadron Primary.  Other competitors collected the following amounts:  Kindergarten (Fisher - 203; Hoffman - 291; Hudson - 270; Landreth - 207); First Grade (Bounous - 695;  Claussen - 210; Ferguson - 586; Gardner - 295); Second Grade (Cogdill - 1,050; Hendrickson - 209; Uhing - 903).

Dawes County Outstanding Teen Participates in Primary School's Read Across America


Ms. Aubree Noble, Miss Dawes County Outstanding Teen, promoted her platform "Read to Sucess" by reading to Mrs. Hudson's Kindergarten students on Thursday March 3rd, during the annual Read Across America celebration.  Ms. Noble is a sophomore at Chadron High School and aspires to present the importance of reading to students in other classrooms.

February Cardinals of the Month Selected


Chadron Primary School selected the February Cardinals of the Month on January 26th. The Cardinals are as follows:  Kindergarten students - Carlin Canaday, Makaelyn Youngman, Kacen Bach, Kayden Kvistad;  First Grade students - Audrey Dailey, Leanna Shumpert, Kilee Jo Wild, Tyson Pourier; and Second Grade students - Parker Wellnitz, Ana Gartner, Hayden Byrd. The students had pizza with the principal on March 4th.

Primary School Annual Title I Meeting

Chadron Primary School will hold its Annual Title I Meeting at 5:30 P.M. on Tuesday, February 23rd in the school library.  We will review the Title I Plan, the School-Parent Learning Compact, and discuss ideas for increased parent involvement.  We hope that you can attend. 

Chadron Primary P-T Conferences Scheduled for February 4th


     Parent-Teacher Conferences for parents of Chadron Primary Students will be held on Thursday, February 4th, from 3:00-7:00 P.M.  Letters were sent home this past week to inform parents which school personnel need to conference with them.  Please note that teachers are not needing to conference with every parent.  However, parents may request a conference and teachers will gladly schedule a conference with them.

Kindergarten Christmas Program on December 21st


     The Chadron Primary Kindergarten students will perform at the annual Christmas Program on Monday, December 21st, at 7:00 P.M.  Parents of Kindergarten students should have their children at the Chadron High School Auditorium by 6:45 P.M. on that evening.  Parents can use the east or west entrances to the high school.

November Cardinals of the Month


Cardinals of the Month chosen for the month of November are: Thaivunh Sayaloune, Brynnar Bach, Jayce Hoffman, Hunter Huffman - Kindergarten; Carter Peters, Kushi Chaudhari, Kylie Mattmiller, Sophie Watson - First Grade; and Paige Slingby, Keya Hand, Trey Pilcher - Second Grade. Pizza with the Principal will be on Friday, December 11th.  Congratulations to the November Cardinals.

Primary Students Continue to Collect Food for Local Food Bank

     The students and parents of Chadron Primary School can continue to collect non-perishable items for the local food bank until Friday, December 18th.  Thanks to all of you parents who have been so generous in sharing /purchasing food for this worthwhile endeavor.  Your contributions are appreciated by so many of the members of our community in need.

     Chadron Primary School is hosting its annual Book Fair on Monday, October 19th and Tuesday, October 20th.  Book and other novelties can be purchased between the hours of 7:30 A.M. and 3:30 on Monday and between the hours of 7:30 A.M. and 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday.  Please stop by and see the great selection.

Battle of the Boxtops Begins


     Beginning on Monday, September 28th, we are asking parents to send their boxtops to school with their child.  Collection sheets on which to put the boxtops were sent home in students' folders on Wednesday, September 23rd.  If parents need more sheets, they should ask their child to let their classroom teacher know and more sheets will be sent home.
