Saturday Matinee-Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Saturday (December 16th @ 1:00) Chadron’s Eagle Theater will be hosting a:   Star Wars: The Last Jedi Matinee at 1:00 for Chadron school children and their friends and family.  


TheTheater is open to anyone but this is a special showing for Chadron Students.
Movie Starts at 1:00

Shoe Drive!

Washington D.C. Trip FundraiserDo you have any old shoes you want to get rid of?We’ll take them!! - Shoes should be gently used, and have no holes.(No snow boots or ski boots please)-Please tie shoes together or tape them in pairs. -Shoes can be dropped off at CIS, KCSR, Bloom,
St. Patricks Parish Center, or with any D.C. Trip student.

Out of this World-Mrs. Anderson's Class

We are having fun learning about the Solar System.  The students used Play Dough to make replicas of the planets and then we put them in order from the Sun.  We also watched a Bill Nye the Science Guy video about the planets.  We are focusing on Earth Science during this second quarter.

CIS Staff and Student take Social Skills very important.

Classrooms have been working on social skills to reduce challenging behaviors.  Families can always help enforce these skills at home.  Other skills we have worked on include:

Parent Teacher Conferences and Book Fair a HUGE Success!

A BIG -THANK YOU to all the parents who attended the Fall Conferences this year.  We appreciate you taking time out of your busy schedules to talk about all our favorite subjects!  Ninety-four percent of you were able to make it with several reschedules pending.  If you were unable to meet with a teacher this week  please call or email to make an appointment.

Recycle Bowl

Recycle Bowl (sponsored by Keep Chadron Beautiful) started Tuesday, Oct. 17.    This is the 4th year Chadron Public Schools has participated in the Recycle Bowl Competition; a month long challenge for schools to collect the most recyclables.   Please bring the following to school for recycling:

FYI:  We weighed the Penny Bucket-It was 35 pounds!

It's more than what you see from across the street

We take our learning at CIS very seriously.  We also like to make it fun.  Mrs. Schmidt helps students learn about geodes.  A geode is a round rock which contains a hollow cavity lined with crystals.
They even made edible geodes!  (no teeth were chipped in this experiment)
