Thank you to the Chadron Public Library for the wonderful "Ocean Worlds: Potential for Life" bookmarks! The 3rd & 4th graders will enjoy being able scan for NASA activities and games as well.
CSC Women's Basketball Team Read with CIS Students
The Chadron State College Women's basketball team has visited CIS the last 2 weeks during our Need to Read time to encourage our students to read for enjoyment. They read to students and then stay for recess! We appreciate their visits and the students love having them! Thank you CSC Women's Basketball team!
3rd Graders visit Bird Banding station at CSP
The 3rd graders had a wonderful time on their field trip to the banding station at Chadron State Park. They were able to talk with the bird bander and learn lots of great information. The students also participated in a hike and played a game to learn about bird migration.

Virtual Library Available
Mrs. Ambrose's 3-4 grade library students enjoyed exploring the virtual library site this last week. There are a variety of resources they can explore both at school and home.
Elmo the Eagle Visits CIS
We had an exciting visitor today at lunch! Elmo the Eagle flew in from Chadron State College to promote a coloring contest. The winner will get to ride in the CSC homecoming parade!

NSCAS Fall Growth
NSCAS Fall Growth Assessment -
Next week we will be taking our Nebraska Student-Centered Assessment System (NSCAS) Fall Growth Assessment. This will help give us baseline data for students’ growth over the school year.
The NSCAS Growth Assessment will be taken in the fall, winter and spring.
Summer Enrichment - August Session
Reminder: Our last session of Summer Enrichment will be August 1st-4th from 8:00-12:00 at Chadron Intermediate School. This is only for students that signed up and attended in May/June. See you soon!
