Chadron Primary School is looking festive for Thanksgiving and the artwork brings happy thoughts of a break well earned! Stay safe and well this Thanksgiving Break!
With a blast of cold weather and snowflakes in the air, I take a moment to go back to Friday's incredible weather with sunshine and warmth. Mrs. Dunbar's class was able to enjoy the fresh air and write sight words with sidewalk chalk. They even had some recess fun with the parachute! The pictures she shared can help us all to remember a happy time with sunshine days...
On this beautiful fall day Mrs. Bounous and her class enjoyed the great outdoors with some sidewalk chalk fun! What a wonderful end to the day and a great addition to the front of Chadron Primary School! Thanks Mrs. Bounous for the creative welcome to our school ~ from rainbows, to unicorns, to a Komodo dragon, to a cardinal... we had it all.
Due to our COVID protocols, our Cardinals of the Month have not been able to have a special breakfast with Principal Uhing. Instead, students have had the opportunity to collect Cardinal Coupons throughout the month and then choose a "Reward" based on the Five Love Languages of Children book (Chapman/Campbell). Today, three of our students chose their "reward" as "Acts of Service" and volunteered to help out in the lunchroom. This is an amazing example of The Cardinal Way in action and we were excited to welcome them as helpers! Thank you Emily F., Parker S., and Ella H., you were amazi
Robin O. (first grader at Chadron Primary School) presented Principal Uhing with a tremendous donation from her Grandma Joyce Hardy! Grandma Joyce made these masks for our little cardinals and we appreciate them so much; they are just the right size and the kiddos love the designs! Thank you so much Grandma Joyce for helping keep our students safe!
Chadron Primary School received a generous donation from Walmart in Chadron! Walmart Manager Adam Gardner presented Chadron Primary School with school supplies including folders, scissors, glue, and many other items students will be able to utilize. A HUGE thank you for the continued support from our local Walmart and the thoughtfulness of Manager Adam Gardner ~ thank you for thinking of our students and families!
Domino's Pizza hosted a fundraiser for Chadron Primary School Monday night and we want to thank all of the families that supported us through pizza and food orders. Domino's manager Jerik Victory presented Principal Uhing a check for $812.56! Again, we cannot thank our Chadron Community and Chadron Primary families enough and thank you Domino's for hosting our fundraiser.
Chadron Primary School participated in our annual bus evacuation drill, giving students the opportunity to practice bus riding safety. Thank you to all of our bus drivers and it was very cute to see the excitement of the students. A couple of the children exclaimed, "That was so fun... we got to go and sit on a bus!" We are anxious to enjoy field trips when it is safe for our students ~ until then ~ mask up!
Chadron Primary School is excited to host our in-school Halloween parties. With our COVID protocols we will not be allowing any outside visitors to help with parties this year. We will still have treats; however, we ask that these be pre-packaged goodies. Thank you for understanding that in these times our health and safety of students and staff is of utmost importance. We are hoping teachers can kick out pictures from the parties via Seesaw in lieu of hosting our costume parade. Thank you again for your continued support!
Chadron Primary Students have been learning about school safety and today (10/23) had the opportunity to practice our first Lockdown Drill. Principal Uhing started by reading the book I'm Not Scared, I'm Prepared to each of the classes and teachers have been coaching students and practicing within each classroom. Students at school are learning to Avoid, Deny, and Defend rather than confrontation and fighting. Please visit with your children about Lockdown procedures and the drill that was conducted today. We thank you for your support and if you have an
As we work through the safety issues of our pandemic plans, we feel having in person conferences is not feasible. We care about each and every student. The teachers will be reaching out to parents individually, through the semester. This is in place of in-person parent/teacher conferences this fall.
